I thought I was wasting my time and that I could run so much farther and harder than it was asking me to in the first few weeks. But at the end of the second week, I finally get it. Just like running an actual 5k, training is about setting the pace. It takes what little time I have during the day, and optimizes what I am able to accomplish. I am not making my own decisions about how far I run, which means I wont hurt myself trying to be an Olympic athlete and I wont go too easy on myself.
